PLEASE BE AWARE THAT WE ONLY SPACE FOR 30 MEMBERS.

At the end of each school term we hold an assessment to see how the children have been progressing. We mark them on their ability to demonstrate the techniques that have been taught to them over the 12 weeks of the unit.
We have a vocational system that our members work through which is based on the academic school year. We have three main units that we cover Basics, Throws, and Kata.

Basics
We start our grading year in September and we start on our Basics unit and we cover aspects of punches, kicks, blocks and sparring/boxing drills.

Throws
In January we move onto our Throws unit we cover aspects in throws, holds and locks.
We prepare our members so that they can compete in something called Randori or for those unsure of the term, it looks a little like Judo!

Kata
In April we move over to our Kata unit where we cover prearranged movements that are used to create structure and focus. We prepare our members to compete and show their newly honed skills at the final assessment. This unit is slightly different in that we shortlist members for the maingrading.
Earning Tags

At the end of each unit we hold a Mini grading where we assess each student. We ask the member to demonstrate the techniques that they have been taught over the 12 weeks.
At the end we give them a result.
Pass They receive the tag to place on their belt.

Merit/Distinction They receive a doubletag to place on their belt.
A doubletag gives the member the chance to move up two belts depending on their current belt at the main grading.

Maingrading
At the end of the school year, we hold our Main grading. Our main grading gives our members a chance to demonstrate their newly learnt skills against other members in a competitive environment. They get to compete against members of their own grade and age.
We ensure our members are able to test their newly learnt skills in a safe and fun environment.
Students can also opt for attending just the main grading award ceremony but they have to have all three mini grading tags.
